Citrus
cleaners are popular for a number of reasons. Since they're extracted
from natural resources, they're environmentally friendly. They're
also a great replacement for cleaning solvents, which aren't biodegradable.
Plus, citrus cleaners have a pleasing scent!
The main ingredient
is d-Limonene, which is the chemical name for citrus oil. When
combined with a surfactant, a water dilutable solution can be
made. The type of surfactant determines what can be cleaned with
the product.
You can clean
just about anything with citrus cleaners - degrease your stove
or grill, remove stains, clean your floors, kitchen, bathroom,
and wash your car. You can even remove gum and sticky adhesives
with citrus products.
