Tip of the Week:
How to Use Acid Bowl Cleaner

When cleaning in a commercial setting, cleaning contractors often have to deal with tough stains and build-up in toilets and urinals. That's because they have not been properly cared for. By using preventive maintenance, you can keep your toilets and urinals looking clean every day.

Visit your local janitorial supply distributor and ask about acid bowl cleaners. These products are not meant for every day use, but for periodic use in order to prevent rust, lime and uric acid deposits in toilet bowls and urinals.

Use the following procedures:

  1. Always wear protective gloves and goggles.
  2. Only after cleaning toilet should you apply the acid bowl cleaner. Apply the cleaner under the rim, and then walk away.
  3. Do not use a toilet bowl brush to scrub, as it can splash up into your face.
  4. Do not inhale fumes.
  5. Let the cleaner sit in the bowl as long as possible, then go back and flush.
  6. If you have any questions on proper usage, ask your janitorial distributor and be sure to read the label directions.
